Introduction
The Egyptian Bazaar (Spice
Bazaar): was built in 1660 by
Hatice Sultan with the taxes collected from Cairo for the trade
of Egyptian commodities, especially herbs and spices. The domed
bazaar is L-shaped and belongs to the complex of the Yeni Valide
Mosque. The air here is filled with the enticing aromas of
cinnamon, caraway, saffron, mint, thyme and every other
conceivable herb and spice.Bosphorus by boat:
On
the waterway separating the two continents, Asia and Europe.
Opportunity to take photographs of marble palaces and ancient
wooden villas of Ottoman architecture, besides modern residences
and luxurious apartments.
Emirgan Imparial Garden &
Sari Kosk: In the heart of Emirgan’s woodland preserve, the massive
‘gingerbread-style’ Sari Kosk stands out like a Victorian dollhouse. Now
more of a restaurant than a historic residence, it's the stopping point
for anyone strolling through the park with excelland view and
atmosphere.
Bosphorus Bridge:
Unique chance to go from one continent (Asia) to another (Europe) in two
minutes.
Beylerbeyi Palace: 19th century summer palace of the late
Ottoman Sultans and a guesthouse for royal visitors.
Beylerbeyi Village:
Nice small fisherman village with tea gardens, seafood restaurants
and view of the Bosphorus.
Camlica Hill: Offers a panoramic view of Istanbul and Bosphorus from the
highest point of the city.
